There are two logic pages, high page and low page, in each page of a physical page of MLC NAND Flash. The high page has higher performance and endurance than lower page. By modifying the firmware SSDs can be set into Pseudo SLC mode, which offers a premium balance between NAND MLC and SLC Flash in both longevity and cost. This technology is known as Pseudo SLC, users can have the endurance of NAND SLC and cost of NAND MLC.
